   vibrant modern guitar

about

the story so far…

It all started with an innocent obsession with rock n’ roll…….

From childhood through adolescence, Patrick’s background in percussion and marching in the highschool drumline was also combined with classical guitar lessons. These two paths soon intersected; combining both influences into the percussive and rock-influenced acoustic style he wields today.

Ever since the age of 16,  Patrick has been playing every kind of gig imaginable – from coffeehouses, clubs, weddings, festivals, and street fairs to small theaters.

His career has led him many places beyond his home state of Indiana, touring the midwest and different parts of the country. Many of Patrick’s adventures have led him to play The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, Hard Rock Cafe in Chicago, The NAMM convention center in Anaheim, California, PIANOS bar in New York City, The Black Potato Fest in New Jersey, and countless other venues.

Calling his style ‘vibrant modern guitar’ he has carved out his unique brand of acoustic music that is complex enough for advanced musicians, but melodic enough for the simple music lover. Combining styles such as hard rock, folk, classical, jazz, celtic, and ambient – the many different elements of his sound blend together in an acoustic landscape.

Approaching the guitar more like a a rock band – Patrick’s music has all the elements one needs to keep listeners entertained including techniques that go beyond average fingerpicking, with punchy bass lines that all go together with a rhythmic pulse.

This ambitious way of communicating on a single instrument, won him second place in Guitar Player Magazine’s 2006 GUITAR SUPERSTAR, in front of judges Joe Satriani and Steve Lukather. He was a finalist in the National Fingerstyle Competition in Winfield, Kansas, in 2023, and has been a semi-finalist in Lee Ritenour’s Yamaha Six String Theory Competition. He has opened for and shared the stage with other national and regional acts such as, Lindsay Mac, the late Katie Reider, Andy McKee, Blues Legend Guy Davis, Brain Henke, Michael Kelsey and many more.

Patrick’s blend of styles forge a unique sound, and his influences include guitarists such as Preston Reed, Michael Hedges, along with hard rock influences such as Alex Lifeson of Rush, and Joe Satriani.

He has released five studio albums of acoustic guitar music, and in addition to his solo acoustic career – Patrick is also active in different side projects such as being a member of the Cleveland Guitar Trio with guitarist Doug Wood, and bassist Darren Frate, his ambient solo guitar endeavors, and his ongoing heavy metal project, Inertia Island.
